LIFE, LIBERTY...AND?
So this is what it means to be free—? That was the question asked by many people—young and old, teens included—in the former Soviet Union after the fall of Communism. They faced having to make their own way in life, providing for themselves what the government formerly handed them. Other people in different circumstances ask the same question, teens especially.
So what is freedom really? And is it really "off the hook," as advocates of doing "my thing" say; or is it rather a "bummer," as too many teens find out when the down side of street life dawns one day like a freezing, windy rain?
So What does it mean to be free anyway?
